Promoting your site's content

One of the major problems facing small business sites, freelancers and anyone who wants to promote their content is finding an audience. Blog Burst may have the answer, and while they aren't paying - it's a great way to get the word out about your company.

The basic premise is this: Blog Burst gives small content producers the chance to have their content featured on "top tier" sites. Hopefully this privilege will not be abused, but in theory, this could really work.

Customers include the SF Gate, Houston Chronicle, and even Gannett.

Give it a try and see what kind of exposure you can get. I plan to see what it can do for my company and some of my clients. I'll let you know how it pans out.

Newroo?

Newroo looks to be a great new service to aggregate news, but we'll have to wait and see if they ever get out of beta. (update: as of July this company has not launched yet.)

The basic concept allows users to create their own sites, which can be clones of previous sites. There is a revenue model somewhere in here, that is similar to the Amazon program.

If it ever gets off the ground, it could be a great opportunity for a small work-at-home business. In the mean time, competitors are looming on the horizon.
